BUS INFORMATION
2026-27 Bus Routes are now available.
Bus routes are available for eligible students who were registered for bus transportation during the Annual Verification process.
To view bus stop information, log in to ParentVUE and look under the "Student Info" tab, or enter student information in the Bus Lookup Tool.
Please note that bus information is subject to updates with changes in enrollment and ridership. Updates will be shared through email and appear in ParentVUE.
🚨 Eligible students who ride the bus should be at their bus stop five (5) minutes before the scheduled pickup time.

School Year Bus Information
Bus Eligibility
In general, students who live more than 1 road mile from their assigned home school are eligible for a school bus. Students experiencing homelessness may qualify for bus transportation under McKinney-Vento, as well as students with specific Special Education needs.
Please note, some FWPS students do not qualify for bus transportation. Students who live within walk zones, or who are participating in Choice Enrollment to attend a school other than their assigned neighborhood school, are not eligible for bus transportation.

Families with children eligible for school bus transportation must register during the annual verification process to receive a bus assignment. This step helps ensure accurate routing and efficient use of district resources.
Bus Route Assignment Notification
Parents of students eligible to ride the bus to and from school will receive an automated call and email with their child’s specific bus stop location and pickup and drop-off information on August 20, 2026.
Follow-up assignment notifications, which may include updates to bus information, will be sent on August 27, 2026, and the day before school, September 1, 2026.
Route Adjustments
During the first few weeks of each new school year, the district’s Transportation Department works to determine where bus overloads or schedule adjustments may be needed, based on actual student ridership. Our routers are working hard to expedite any adjustments as safely and efficiently as possible. As the Transportation Department works to streamline routes, we appreciate your patience and understanding.
During the school year, if temporary or permanent route adjustments are required due to ridership, construction projects, or other factors, families will receive an email, phone, or text notification through ParentSquare.
Bus Delays
Traffic flows the first few weeks of school are typically heavier than normal, which can impact route timeliness. Additional external factors, including heavy traffic, detours, construction projects around Federal Way, or mechanical issues, may also cause delays.
If your child's bus is running more than 15 minutes late than their scheduled pick-up or drop-off time, families will be notified through an automated ParentSquare message. For questions about delays, please contact FWPS Transportation at 253-945-5960.
